WHO WE ARE:

Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug Dibenjikewin Onaakonikewin (“KIDO”) is the KI FamilyLaw and its Maamao Dibenjikewin Kanawaabajikewin (“MDK”) service model carries out child and familyservices, but KIDO is much broader than mainstream services. It is specific to KI Nation and is animportant exercise of Miinikozowin (inherent power) by KI and aims to restore kayaash egwa miinaahchaako kikinohamaakewinan (traditional and spiritual teachings of KI).

Position Summary

The IT Data Entry Clerk is a full-time position in the Database and IT Department of KIDO. Responsibilities will include being trained on KIDO’s Maamao Dibenjikewin Kanawaabajikewin (“MDK”) service model to fully understand the MDK case database system to enter case information to the KIDO database system. Supporting other KIDO staff with understanding the database will be required and at times, data entry services during case review periods. Working in a collegial manner in the Database and IT Department of KIDO is an expectation in order to meet the IT data needs of KIDO.  This position will have location assigned based on need, and will report to the IT Case Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answering the telephone and inputting caller information into KIDO MDK Database System.
  • Working closely with frontline staff, especially as it relates to detail on data entry.
  • Must manage hard copy forms and agreements of KIDO MDK services to ensure that they are sorted and uploaded onto the database system when KIDO staff have not directly entered the information directly and/or via uploads.
  • Ensure that KIDO staff can access information in a timely manner when requesting data entry services. .
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  • Follow and understand KIDO Program and Service policies and procedures, especially as it pertains to the MDK Service Model.
  • Participate in all facets of training provided by the KIDO Training Unit, including core competency training.
  • Perform duties for special case file review meetings with the Database and IT Department, including preparation of uploaded files and assisting with gathering statistics from the KIDO MDK Database System.
  • Must maintain confidentiality while in the performance of work duties relative to the Oath of Confidentiality.
  • To travel to attend events and programming as required.
  • Hours of work will be during regular KIDO office hours but will require flexibility as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the It Case Manager.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of databases and of IT applications at the workplace.
  • Clerical training and/or experience and knowledge of MS WORD and EXCEL as asset.
  • Accurate typing skills, word processing, and computer work experience.
  • Ability to learn and possessing the capability to apply multi-step procedures of data entry.
  • Must be personable, professional, and reliable for attendance to work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to speak Anishininiimowin is preferred.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to complete assigned duties on own.
  • Demonstrated patience, humility, respect, consistency, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understand that KIDO is based on language and kayaash egwa mina ahchaako kikinohamaakewin (traditional and spiritual teachings) revitalization.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting and to multi-task when required.
  • Working knowledge of KIDO and the MDK Service Model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of KI’s distinct culture, traditions, values and principles.
  • A clean Criminal Record Checks, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, is required.
  • Ability to travel as required, including to KIDO office locations and other places as needed.
